It is a traditional and refreshing Panjabi summer drink from the rich farms of Panjab, made with fresh yoghurt, sugar and aromatic flavours. Perfect for cooling down during hot summer days.
*****INGREDIENTS*****
- 2 cups fresh yoghurt (curd)
- 1 cup chilled water
4 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste) - ¼ tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp rose water (optional)
- 6–8 ice cubes
Garnish
- Crushed pistachios
- Crushed almonds
- A pinch of cardamom powder
- Rose petals (optional)
*****INSTRUCTIONS*****
First add fresh yoghurt into a large mixing bowl or blender.
Add chilled water and sugar.
Blend or whisk properly until the lassi becomes smooth, creamy and frothy.
Add cardamom powder and rose water for extra traditional flavour.
Blend again for a few seconds.
Add ice cubes and mix well.
Pour the sweet lassi into tall serving glasses.
Garnish with crushed pistachios, almonds, a light sprinkle of cardamom powder and rose petals if desired.
Serve chilled.
