What a sad day for the Panjabi film industry, as the famous Punjabi actor and director Sukhjinder Shera passes away in Uganda in the early hours of Wednesday morning. According to reports, a friend of the later actor-director said that Shera went to Kenya, South Africa on April 17th to meet a friend, and on April 25th his health started deteriorating as he got a fever. The fever then led to pneumonia and Shera was hospitalized, and at around 2 am he breathed his last.
The Panjabi producer DP Singh Arshi, close to Sukhjinder Shera, said that his family wanted his dead body to be brought back to Punjab but they have been facing a lot of difficulties due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
Actor Karamjit Anmol took to Instagram to mourn the loss. He shared a photo of the late actor along with a note, which read, “ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸੁਖਜਿੰਦਰ ਸ਼ੇਰਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀ ਰਹੇ ,ਉਹ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਲਕ ਜਿਲਾ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ,ਵਰਿੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਯਾਰੀ ਜੱਟ ਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਤੌਰ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਫਿਲਮੀ ਸਫਰ ਸੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ,ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸਕ ਵਜੋ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ,ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਖਰੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਯਾਰ ਬੇਲੀ ਸੀ। North Zone Film & T.V Artistes’ Association – regd.@Sukhinder Shera.”
