Well done to our fellow radio broadcaster Deedar Kaur Bahra’s daughter, Narita Kaur Bahra, on being appointed to the Queens Council, as part of the City Sikhs Advisory Board!

Panjab Radio has the delight and the honour to announce our fellow radio broadcaster Deedar Kaur Bahra’s daughter Narita Kaur Bahra QC, has recently been honoured to carry with her a pair of white silk gloves to the Silks swearing in ceremony, to mark the centenary this year of women being allowed to enter the legal profession.

Narita was quoted in The Times saying it was “an absolute honour” to carry the gloves, adding: “I never thought that I — an Asian woman from a state school — would be taking silk.”

The Queens Council have sent a message to accompany the gloves, reading: “Congratulations centenary silk! Onwards and upwards forever! With love and admiration!”

Well done to both Deedar Kaur Bahra, and Narita Kaur Bahra for such an accomplishment! Carry on making us proud!
