Hi listeners! Pyar satkar de naal, pella ta sarre mere Panjabi veer, bhen, praavan nu Sat Sri Akaal. Im Ricky, but to you I am probably a lot more familiar as the voice on the 2pm - 4pm slot on air! I am a born and bred British Sikh, Londoner but very Panjabi at heart. By profession I am a graduate Graphic Designer, however, it is my passion for Panjabi music that brought me to the world of radio -PANJAB RADIO. My inspiration comes from Surjit Singh Ghuman. His guidance, and form of presenting is something that I’ve admired for a very long time and has brought the best into what I love doing the most which is airing my voice across to the Panjabi crowd.

I enjoy listening to various bhangra artists, as well as my traditional folk songs - aahhh the sweet smell of India. My all time favourite song has to be by Dippa Satrang believe it or not entitled Sajna. I also have a soft spot for sad songs, which is what i like to portray in my shows. Ill also let u guys in on another secret which is that I enjoy singing and when I’m in one of my moods then I just sing to myself…weird huh?!

If I ever had the opportunity I’d like to interview Surinder Shinda. His music speaks for itself; his voice has this inner Panjabi feeling that makes you want to listen to his songs again and again. This is just what I wanted to bring in to my shows on air.

There’s no place like Panjab! With an amazing vibrant atmosphere, it feels like home every time Im there. Joining Panjab Radio has given me an opportunity to share my tastes and flavours with a wide variety of listeners and judging from the response, its been a very rewarding opportunity.
